On Thursday, September 5th, the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils held their annual Meet the Greeks event in the Rensselaer Union McNeil Room. The event, which lasted from 5pm to 7pm, drew a fair-sized crowd, estimated at just under 100 individuals. While this turnout is lower than in previous years, many students did not go because of the deferred recruitment policies, which prohibits freshmen from receiving a bid in the fall semester. While underclassmen are still more than welcome at these greek-wide events, visitors were fewer than expected. Panhel is still very optimistic about the participation of upperclassmen in fall Continuous Open Bidding, and are continuing to encourage underclassmen to attend other events throughout the semester and to participate in January’s primary recruitment.
