RPI Panhellenic Council

My name is Emily Lockwood and I am the Panhellenic Vice President of Recruitment. I am so glad that you are taking your time to consider Greek life here at Rensselaer. Freshman year, I found myself a bit lost in the multitude of clubs I had joined and in my male dominated classes. I wanted to find a place where I could make friends and pursue leadership in a group I was passionate about. Through becoming involved in Greek life my second semester here at RPI, I was able to meet and build relationships with so many kind and inspiring women, both within my own sorority, and throughout the entire Greek community. Joining this community can open so many doors for you as a student at Rensselaer. Whether you are looking for leadership opportunities, academic support, networking, or simply lifelong friendship, Greek life will provide these opportunities for you. Myself, and the entire Panhellenic Council, are so excited to introduce you to our amazing community, and potentially help you on your journey to join it.

Panhellenic, or sorority, recruitment is a period of time when RPI’s five sororities extend offers of membership to women on campus. Through this process you will meet many women, learn about a variety of philanthropies, and potentially find your future home. The primary recruitment period is a very structured process where you will get the opportunity to learn about all of the houses on campus. It is important to go into it with an understanding of what will be expected of you, as a potential new member, so that you are prepared for, and can enjoy the process. I encourage you to read over what each day of primary recruitment is like on our Fall Recruitment page.

To participate in our recruitment, you must sign up prior to the first rotational event. Registration will open on July 17th, and will remain open right up to the start of primary recruitment. However, I highly suggest signing up as soon as possible so that you can start receiving more information as the dates for recruitment come nearer. Signing up for recruitment does not require you to participate in any of our events or join Greek Life, but you must be signed up before you can attend our formal primary recruitment events. I can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to the Panhellenic Community here at RPI. Don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns you have about Sorority life in general or the recruitment process– I’m always available to help! You can email me at rpi.panhel.vpr@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you soon.

In Panhellenic Spirit,

Vice President of Recruitment
